The Situation

Manse Opus wanted support to promote their plans to deliver a 196 acre, 2.3 million sq ft manufacturing and industrial park in Warwickshire. The proposals, known as Prospero Ansty, had already secured a pre-let with Meggitt, a global leader in the aerospace industry.

Despite the scale of their proposals, the small number of residential properties near the site meant that traditional, community led consultation was not appropriate. Instead, Manse Opus required engagement with senior political and industry stakeholders across the region to support the planning process and raise the project’s profile among the business community.

What we did

Snapdragon put together a varied programme which focused on high-level stakeholder engagement. This included a series of events which brought together industry and political leaders at Ansty Park, which lies adjacent the Prospero Ansty site.

One of the events brought together the Leaders and Chief Executives of Rugby Borough Council, Warwickshire County Council, Coventry & Warwickshire LEP as well as the MP for Rugby, Mark Pawsey. This was along side a series of roundtables with the regional business community and local parish and ward councillors. Written briefings were also circulated with key political stakeholders in Rugby, Coventry and Warwickshire.

The Result

By creating a strategy unique to the character of Manse Opus’ proposals, Snapdragon successfully raised the profile of Prospero Ansty with key stakeholders and decision makers. This resulted in both business and political leaders indicating support for the development plans and the Leaders of Rugby Council and Warwickshire Council writing directly to the Secretary of State at MHCLG to lobby the government on behalf of Manse Opus.
